Dan's Sighting

We were driving north on Old New York Road and decided to turn around and go back home, since it was getting late and we had class in the morning. As I was doing a k-turn in the road, something flew out of the tree directly in front of us. I have no idea what it was. At first, I thought maybe it was a huge bird like a stork, pelican, or heron or something, considering its wingspan was a good 4 feet wide. But when it swooped down past us and went under the streetlight, it didn't look like a bird. I could have sworn it had the wings of a bat. The thing I could best compare it to would be one of those pterodactyl dinosaurs. It flew a great distance very quickly, however it seemed like it flapped its wings very slowly. This was really weird, and I can't think of anything else it could have been except for the Jersey Devil.
