Driving westbound on Shades of Death Road about 2.5 miles past Drakes Acres at 1am, my passenger and I saw a shadowy figure about the size of a bear cross the road about 35 feet in front of us from right to left very fast. I then checked my speed, which was 35mph. Looking back to the road I noticed something out of the corner of my eye to the left. I then looked directly to my left. There was a row of evenly spaced pine trees, about 10 feet apart from one another running parallel to the road about 5-10 feet from the shoulder of the oncoming lane. About ten feet beyond that I saw the shadowed figure, similar shape to a person, running parallel to the road at the same speed as my car. It had two glowing red eyes that were looking straight at me as I looked at it. I looked at it for approximately 3 seconds as it paced my car. I was immediately a bit freaked out and checked my speedometer (still 35) then locked my eyes forward, rather frightened to look to the left again in case it was three feet away from me. I asked my passenger, "Did; you see that?" a couple times before she replied that she had. I then began muttering some frightened expletives as I put on a little more gas and locked my door. I later verified the accounts with my passenger to make sure that the story was in no way embellished or lacking.
