| While driving to work, I started hearing a loud shrill sound like a prehistoric bird, then saw way up ahead a very large bird-like creature, looked like black and grey feathers with a long neck and rather large head. It jumped from the woods, ran across the road in front of my car and then with one big hop, jumped into the woods. As I drove past the spot where it entered the woods, I stopped to take a look and it was gone. Until reading this site I always thought it may have been an ostrich, but the head was rather large, now I know it may have been the jersey devil. This area was just south of a small open graveyard that is along the road. |
